Riga – what to do during a nuclear attack?

March 8th, 2007

The interior of the place where I’m staying is made of found old soviet materials. Old posters which explain the procedure of what to do – and obviously what you shouldn’t do – during a nuclear attack. The European procedure of preparing their citizens for such a attach are hilarious and since I’m unable to read Russian, I can only imagine the Soviet equivalent.

Glacier – Franz Joseph/Fox – NZ

July 31st, 2006

The destination of our trip to the South Island, was the glacier. Derek’s idea was to record the sounds of the glacier. A very generous guy called Duncan – an employer of the local DOC – invited us to stay at his house in Franz and guided us up the glacier. Equipped with crampons, ice axes and our recording equipment, we spent six hours on the ice..
